Passport Approved has spent the last 14 years as the first point of radio contact in N. America or worldwide for international artists such as Adele, Lorde, Kongos, Tove Lo, Bastille, John Newman, Frank Turner, Lily Allen, Gin Wigmore, The Temper Trap, Gotye, LMFAO, Wolfmother, San Cisco, The Ting Tings, Sheppard, Gavin James, Picture This, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs and hundreds of others.
Passport Approved is the creation of British-born/Los Angeles-based DJ Sat Bisla, who was previously a DJ at KCRW and Indie 103.1FM in Los Angeles. Bisla also worked at a number of other music-intensive radio stations in Central California, including KKDJ "The Edge" Fresno, where he hosted/programmed a weekly import show and was also the station's Music Director.
Over the years Bisla has been credited by the global music industry with playing a part in helping artists (pre-label signing in the US and/or worldwide) such as Coldplay, Adele, Sia, Keane, Muse, Frank Turner, Caro Emerald, Gary Jules, Dido, Faithless, Lily Allen, The Ting Tings, Editors, Teddybears, Missy Higgins and many others who have gone on to have global success.
Passport Approved has worked with tastemaker DJs and radio stations from around the world, including Kiwi FM New Zealand, Radio X (UK), TokyoFM, InterFM (Japan) and Deutschland's FluxFM. Passport Approved has also done weekly exchanges with Australia's Triple M Radio, John Kennedy from Xfm London, England and also highly-influential former BBC Radio 1 (UK) DJ Zane Lowe now head of Beats 1 at Apple.
