London-Paris sibling duo Disgusting Sisters recently unleashed “Waste of Space,” a darkly playful slice of electro-pop that turns post-breakup amnesia into something sharp, funny, and strangely addictive. The pair describe the track as being about forgetting someone after a breakup, imagining the brain as a hard drive that has run out of storage and simply wipes the unwanted memories. Fusing electronic production, emo instincts, horror, and humor, “Waste of Space” captures the irreverent energy that has quickly made Disgusting Sisters one of the more intriguing new acts in the alternative pop space. The single arrives ahead of the duo’s debut album Skin & Blisters, due October 30 via Source Records, the iconic Anglo-French label historically home to artists including Air, Phoenix, and Kings of Convenience. Written and recorded by the sisters with producer and live bassist James McManus, the album expands their DIY sound with additional production from Oli Bayston (Barry Can’t Swim, Rachel Chinouriri), adding a heavier indie edge to their chaotic electro-pop world. Disgusting Sisters have already earned strong support from The Guardian, which praised their blend of Smerz, Brat-era Charli XCX, and early Billie Eilish. They have also picked up BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music support and recently supported Two Door Cinema Club. With Skin & Blisters set to explore everything from hopeless exes and sugar daddies to the daily grind of the workday, “Waste of Space” offers another sharp, entertaining glimpse into a band that clearly knows how to make the weird feel irresistible.
